The pattern we see
Industrial sites run private communications with asset cycles measured in decades. The DC plant was specified by an EPC contractor at construction, commissioned once, and has not been touched since. Documentation is in a folder nobody can find, ambient temperature is harder on the batteries than any telecom room, and when a module fails the original integrator has moved on. The equipment is often older than the current vendor's product catalogue.
What this actually requires
- Identification of equipment whose original supplier no longer exists under that name.
- Parts for plants the OEM has walked away from, without replacing a plant that still has years of service in it.
- Battery sizing that takes the real ambient temperature into account rather than a data-sheet assumption.
- Documentation you can put in the site file, so the next person is not in the same position.
How we approach it
These sites are where the lifecycle label matters most: half the plants people assume are dead are current products under a different corporate name, and half the ones assumed current genuinely are end-of-life. We tell you which of the two you have before you budget anything.
